Strike to continue while RMT members are consulted

MORE THAN 900 North Sea divers and support staff who have been on indefinite strike since November 1 are to consider a new offer made by the employers today after eight hours of talks held under the auspices of Acas.

The strike will continue while members are consulted in a referendum to be concluded later this week.

"After six days of solid indefinite strike action and after eight hours of talks today under the auspices of Acas, the employers have today made a new offer," RMT general secretary Bob Crow said tonight.

"The new offer is of 25 (twenty-five) per cent on all rates from November 1, with a further five per cent from April 1 next year.

"The offer is also of a further five per cent or RPI plus 1.5 per cent, whichever is greater, from November 1, 2007and again from November 1, 2008.

"The employers have also agreed to pay divers and support staff for all eight bank holidays.

"Importantly the employers have also agreed to formulate proper bargaining procedures with each of the seven companies involved, although they will still come together when pay is discussed for all seven companies.

"The offer has been made without strings, and will be put to members in a referendum that will close later this week," Bob Crow said

La huelga para continuar mientras miembros de RMT son consultados

Más de 900 personal de buzos y apoyo de Mar de norte que ha estado en la huelga indefinida desde noviembre 1 es de considerar una nueva oferta hecha por los empleadores hoy después de ocho horas de discusiones tenidos bajo los auspicios de Acas.

La huelga continuará mientras miembros son consultados en un referéndum para ser concluido luego esta semana.

"Después de seis días de la acción indefinida sólida de la huelga y después de ocho horas de discursos hoy bajo los auspicios de Acas, los empleadores han hecho hoy una nueva oferta," RMT secretario general Corta el Cuervo dijo esta noche.

"La nueva oferta es de 25 (veinticinco) por ciento en todas tasas de noviembre 1, con un cinco por ciento adicional de abril 1 el año próximo.

"La oferta es también de un cinco por ciento adicionales o RPI más el 1,5 por ciento, el que es más grande, de el 1 de noviembre de 2007 y otra vez el 1 de noviembre de 2008.

"Los empleadores han acordado también pagar buzos y apoyo el personal para ocho fiestas oficiales.

"Importante los empleadores han concordado también formular negociar apropiado los procedimientos con cada una de las siete compañías implicadas, aunque ellos se reunirán todavía cuándo paga es discutida para siete compañías.

"La oferta ha sido hecha sin cuerdas, y será puesta a miembros en un referéndum que cerrará luego esta semana," bob crow- dijo
